Living With Parrots (3 hours)
Because parrots benefit greatly when they have educated owners and caregivers, education is CPC's primary focus. The principles of Parrot Connection's innovative Parrots as Companion Animals online seminar series are rooted in our respect for natural parrot behavior and an understanding of how their intelligence and wild instincts shape their interactions with people.
Subjects covered in Living with Parrots include:
- costs and responsibilities in sharing your home and life with a parrot
- proper husbandry and housing
- nutritional considerations for captive parrots
- importance of specialized veterinary care
- introduction to environmental enrichment
- "poopology 101"
